DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The work consisted of the construction of a steel portal frame building 70m x 12m with profiled plastic coated steel sheeting. The construction of a reinforced concrete slab incorporating pads and holding down bolts for the steel columns. Incorporation of a gas venting system below the slab. Ancillary works to the main structure included the installation of drainage interceptors, fuel tanks and fuel retention separator, the construction of a new carriageway and footways, the foundations for new offices, welfare facilities and car parking areas.
Due to the close proximity of the high voltage overhead cables all material stored on site, erected section of the main structure and delivery vehicles had to be earthed to prevent electricity build up.
